We are proud to be a woman-owned law firm. Our founder and sole owner, Lisa Frye Garrison, has a longstanding commitment to encouraging diversity in private law practice. Ten years ago, she founded the women’s affinity group at her multi-state, predecessor firm. This group has offered mentoring and business development opportunities aimed at women attorneys for many years. Its programs included a “Get Your Ask In Gear” presentation by Lisa and a “Meals on Heels” service-networking initiative that Lisa created, with multiple events benefiting the hungry.
Lisa is also committed to national and global diversity initiatives. As an active, award-winning subcommittee chair of the ABA Section of Litigation’s Woman Advocate Committee, Lisa has promoted several diversity initiatives over the last decade, including organizing one of the “Power of the Purse” programs offered by the ABA’s Commission on Women In the Profession and implementing a “Sharing Our Success” program, which involved experienced lawyers sharing inspiring tips with younger lawyers. Lisa is a contributing member of the Global Christian Professional Women’s Association. She also founded the LinkedIn group, “Women Alumni of UNC-Chapel Hill” a/k/a “Heels In Heels,” which has more than 1,250 members across the globe.
We believe that diverse backgrounds and viewpoints strengthen the creativity, relevance, and effectiveness of our legal teams. Diversity of thought and perspectives enhances our client service and helps us to better connect with 21st century jurors.
We are grateful that our clients support a woman-owned law firm. We try to pay that privilege forward by seeking out highly qualified, diverse vendors—including experts and mediators who are women or persons of color.
